Each Garden Pot Paint Collection includes four coordinating 250 ml limewash paint colours, a 3×7 Bauwerk natural-bristle limewash brush and simple instructions to help you get started. Every palette is carefully curated so the colours work beautifully together, making it easy to create a cohesive look across terracotta, concrete and stone planters. Each 250 ml colour typically covers around four standard-sized planters, depending on their size and porosity.

The Garden Pot Paint is packaged in a kraft box measuring 35 x 20 x 10cm, making it easy to display in-store, wrap as a gift or store between projects.

Limewash naturally weathers over time outdoors, developing softness and variation with exposure to the elements.

Durability will vary depending on watering, climate and surface type. The finish can easily be refreshed with another coat of limewash or sanded back if desired.

Bauwerk pigments are mineral-based, UV stable and designed for lasting colour outdoors. This means that our colours are not affected by the sun’s ultraviolet rays (which can cause paints to fade). Our paints have been fully tested in the extreme temperatures of Australia and the Middle East.

Yes. Older pots can easily be refreshed with limewash paint. Before painting, clean the surface thoroughly and remove any loose material or residue.

We do not recommend sealing painted terracotta pots, as a breathable surface is better for plant health and allows the finish to weather naturally over time.

Limewash paint is ideal for porous materials like terracotta, concrete or stone as it gets absorbed into the surface. Glazed or sealed vessels are not suitable for limewashing.

To test if your pot is absorbent, simply apply some water to the surface and observe whether the water is absorbed into the surface or is rejected.

The coverage of Limewash Paint on raw absorbent terracotta is 7-10 m² (75–107 ft²) per litre, per coat, with 2-3 coats required for full coverage.
